On February 18, 2024, a multidisciplinary team from the Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai Trauma Center of Excellence and Bangkok Chiang Mai Clinic Thaphae, in collaboration with the Chiang Mai Tourist PolicChiang Mai Tourist Police, organized a Basic Life Support (BLS) training course. The course aimed to provide tourists visiting Thaphae Walking Street with the skills to save lives before a medical team arrives. Both Thai and foreign tourists attended the training, which was free of charge and held at the Chiang Mai Tourist Police Station (Thaphae).
Organizing free BLS training is part of Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai's commitment to making Chiang Mai a safe tourist destination for people from all over the world. The initiative began at "Thaphae Gate," which is a major tourist landmark and is also home to the Bangkok Chiang Mai Clinic Thaphae Branch. The training focused on teaching CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation), which is a basic first-aid technique that can save lives if performed correctly. It is a skill that everyone should learn from experts, as anyone can be a "hero" and save a life in a critical situation.
Bangkok Chiang Mai Clinic Thaphae Branch is committed to continuing this project in collaboration with the Chiang Mai Tourist Police. The goal is to share knowledge and expertise with the community and create new heroes in our midst. This activity is a continuation of the basic life support training that Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai has been providing to the Chiang Mai Tourism Business Association on a regular basis.
