No more needles! Allergy tablets make it easy, convenient, and safe to manage dust mite allergies without injections. For allergy sufferers, sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) allergy tablets are a new option for those who are allergic to dust mites, including the treatment of allergic rhinitis and asthma.
Before patients can receive this allergy tablet vaccine, their allergies must first be evaluated using a skin prick test or blood test. The medication’s properties will gradually work to modify the patient’s immune system, making them more resistant to dust mite triggers. This can help to improve allergy symptoms, reduce the need for other medications, reduce asthma attacks, nighttime awakenings, emergency medication use, and improve lung function. It may take 8–14 weeks to see results.
Important information before using the medication
Because the medication dissolves and is absorbed through sublingual tissue, use it as directed:
- Place the tablet under the tongue and allow it to dissolve for at least 1 minute without swallowing saliva.
- Do not eat or drink anything for at least 5 minutes after taking the medication.
Duration of treatment
You should take sublingual tablets daily for 3 years, or as your doctor prescribes. Studies have shown that the benefits of treatment can last for up to 2 years after discontinuing the medication.

Who should not use sublingual allergy tablets?
- Children under the age of 12.
- People with severe asthma.
- People with autoimmune disorders or cancer
- People taking immunosuppressive medications.
- People who are allergic to any of the ingredients in the tablets (gelatin from fish, mannitol, and sodium hydroxide).
People who have recently had teeth removed, oral surgery, or mouth sores or infections.
