JCI accreditation is viewed as the gold standard in the global health care community. A health care organization that has met JCI’s exacting standards can proudly display the Gold Seal of Approval® as a sign of this distinctive accomplishment. JCI is the highest benchmark for quality healthcare worldwide.

Health care organizations that are capable of meeting these standards must undergo a comprehensive and rigorous on-site survey conducted by JCI in order to achieve accreditation. Once accredited, organizations must continue to meet JCI standards and are regularly assessed through periodic audits.

CAMTS US & CAMTS EU Dual Medical Transport Accreditation (2018 to 2021, 2022 to 2025)

Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai has obtained the Dual Medical Transport Accreditation by Land, Sea and Air from The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (USA) and The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (EU). CAMTS is an organization dedicated to improving the quality of patient care and safety of the ambulatory transport systems. Accreditations are granted to medical transportation services that demonstrate compliance to standards and demonstrate their ability to deliver high quality emergency transportation services.

In order attain dual CAMTS accreditation, the hospital’s medical transport service had to pass a rigorous review of all services including the company’s mission and vision statements, management, medical care, transportation vehicles, vehicle maintenance, communications, medical transportation personnel, heliports, infection controls, legal policies, ethics and health care professionals.

LEED Certified: First Hospital Building in ASEAN

Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai received the award in 2016 as the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building in ASEAN certified by the US Green Building Counsel (USGBC) in building design, structural safety, and maximum utilization proficiency. The principals of LEED were used in the construction in order to reduce energy usage and protect the environment.

The Future Service Design BDMS Quality Forum Award 2017 is given to hospitals in the Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS) network recognized as champions of quality improvement initiatives to provide superior customer service to patients. The award honors the work and dedication it takes to design, implement and continually improve the customer service experience for every person. Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai received the Future Service Design BDMS Quality Forum Award for the development and implementation of a pain management process, using the principles of the Empathy Clinic Model, to better manage chronic pain issues for non-cancer patients and improve the quality and safety procedures based on standard guidelines and customer needs.

Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai was recognized for the development of baby warm cap designed to prevent hypothermia in infants at birth.

Patient Safety Initiative of the Year - Thailand: Healthcare Asia Awards 2019 & The First Runner Up Quality Improvement Innovation: BDMS Quality Forum Award 2019

The Patient Safety Initiative of the Year - Thailand: Healthcare Asia Awards 2019 is given to hospitals in Asia that undertake innovative projects, initiatives and best practices that make a remarkable and positive impact to the safety of patient’s.

The Quality Improvement Innovation BDMS Quality Forum Award 2019 is given to hospitals in the Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS) recognized as champions of quality improvement initiatives that focus on the systemic work flows for services provided to patients.

Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai received both awards for the design and development of a knee radiography device that reduces the burden on patients and helps reduce the repetition of image capture during X-rays. As a result, the amount of radiation exposure was reduced for both patient and staff. The resulting radiographic image was also anatomically correct enabling radiologists to more quickly and accurately diagnose patients.
