Stroke Fast Track Program
The Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai Neuroscience Center multidisciplinary team of expert doctors, nurses, and therapists provide comprehensive services for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients suffering from a stroke. Strokes are a major cause of disability, paralysis, and death. A stroke is caused by a blockage in the arteries which carry oxygen to the brain. Oxygen deprivation can result in speech impediments, movement disorders, and sometimes result in death. Our stroke program is designed to reduce the rate of death and disability for patients suffering from a stroke within the first 4.5 hours of symptoms. The chances for survival and recuperation are greatly improved the quicker treatment can begin.
Warning signs of a stroke include:
- Numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
- Confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
- Trouble seeing in one or both eyes
- Difficulty walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
- Sudden, severe headache with no known cause
If you or a loved one are experiencing any of these symptoms, seek immediate medical help.
At the Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai Neuroscience Center, we follow the Joint Commission International (JCI) standards for providing rapid and comprehensive treatment for patients suffering from acute stroke and complex cerebrovascular diseases, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
